What was the highlight of Safestay London Elephant & Castle
Ideal for short stays, central
Central location with lots of security. Beds had curtains so it gave privacy to guests. Downstairs reception area was also pleasant to wait in, if not slightly crowded. Ideal for independent travellers not interested in the social aspect of hostels.
Honestly, the other guests. They took forever in the showers in the morning (only two per the area you had access to). Staff weren’t always available on reception, which made it hard to report issues and keep things running.

Clean, affordable somewhere safe to lay your head
I booked really late, on my way back from a festival. There was water on the bar which meant I could take a tablet. It was clean and only a 30 minute walk from Waterloo trainstation.
I booked online, so on arrival thought I just had to go to reception but I had to register/book on the computer which felt a bit of a pain (I was tired and had an awful headache so just wanted to sleep) They had run out of key cards, so I had to be escorted upstairs (lifted was ooo) and was advised if I needed the loo to leave the door ajar and go to the end of the corridor which I did but when I came back found there was a loo in our room... Couldn't open windows so it was really muggy with no air flow.. When I got in around 22:30 some people were sleeping and the room was dark. There were 2 empty beds ( this was the first hostel experience and no one mentioned the beds were numbered ) I got into the bottom bunk, which appeared to be fine.. .. around 00:30 I heard rustling by my bed and my curtains had been open (and left open) the young man told me I was in his bed... I felt awful. My suggestion so this wouldn't happen again is ask the person if they have stayed in a hostel before and especially with late check in let them know which bed they are in.

It was affordable, you get what you pay for and we weren’t looking for luxury, just something easy and a clean place to sleep!

Very safe and secure, very clean, great facilities. Would be great if prices were 30% lower, at least for longer stays (weeks, etc.)
